        Histoire

        Palais de Buenavista

The palace was the meeting place in Toledo of great literary and artistic figures, such as Miguel de Cervantes, Góngora, Lope de Vega, Baltasar Gracián, Tirso de Molina and El Greco himself. The cigarral's garden was one of the most elaborate and well maintained of the time, where deer, gazelles and nymph statues lived.

The Count of Romanones, one of the most prominent political figures in Spain at the time, acquired the property in 1923 and carried out an extensive restoration of the complex. In that era, King Alfonso XIII stayed there when on hunting trips in the area. At the beginning of the 20th century, the palace ruins were reconverted into a luxury hotel.

Since 2014, the hotel has been managed by the Hotusa Group and is part of the Eurostars Hotel chain.
